MAGIC OCOTLAN
Located in the Central Valleys region is Ocotlán de Morelos, one of the 570 municipalities that make up Oaxaca where you begin this interesting journey. When you arrive in this municipality you will have the opportunity to see the church of this emblematic place, which is decorated with neoclassical details, a temple that at some point was a convent. You will also enter the local market of this picturesque place, where for visitors one of the attractions within the local market is to visit “La Cocina de Frida” a cheap restaurant within this place that offers you regional dishes.
Continue your tour of the traditional square, where every Friday the residents of different municipalities of the capital of Oaxaca sell their products made in their regions. While walking through this square do not miss the opportunity to try the drink of the Gods, the “Tejate”. The next stop is in Santo Tomas Jalietza, a community dedicated mostly to the art of the “Waist Loom”. Same place where we will enjoy the rich Oaxacan gastronomy. Finally, you will visit San Martín Tilcajete, where you will learn about the elaboration of Alebrijes that are carved and painted by hand, where women and men are inspired by nature to give life and color to what was once a copal tree.
