TREKKING EXCURSION

We will leave for the Indigenous Communities that are known from the state of Chiapas belonging to the Tzotzil ethnic group doing trekking *; Visiting Chamula first, the guide will explain the fusion of contemporary traditions and Mayan ancestral characteristics that identify this place and Chiapas. Later, we will continue hiking through the places where the locals walk, which will lead us to the neighboring community of Zinacantan, where we will visit the church and the house of a family cooperative, where we will be received with a regional drink and we will observe how the women work the waist loom of pre-Columbian eras. After admiring the samples of what they produce, we will have the possibility of going to their kitchen, where if we are lucky, they will invite us to taste handmade tortillas. At the end of the trek, we will return by transport to San Cristobal de Las Casas and a City Tour will be done in this beautiful city. We will observe the traditional side that makes the state of Chiapas famous.

Inclusions: Transportation, Spanish Guide for hiking, Spanish guide with English translator to visit the communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan.

Exclusions: Food and drinks, no tip, nothing previously unspecified.

NOTE:

  • Suitable for people over 8 years old. Have physical condition for a walk.
  • Wear comfortable and warm clothing, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, among others. 
  • This tour is operated exclusively Spanish with English translator
  • Preferably wear special hiking shoes or all-terrain footwear.
  • Hiking: it consists on walking routes or trails through the countryside or the mountain.
