CHEESE AND CRAFT PAPER TOUR
Leaving the City of Oaxaca, just 17 km away from the city center, we will travel to the destination of the Etla Valley, where “Quesillo y Papel” is the distinctive commercial activity of this totally artisanal place. First visiting a former hydroelectric plant located in San Agustín Etla, where there is a cooperative dedicated to the production of paper with natural fibers from the region, such as tree bark, branches, flowers, pigments and cotton. This workshop offers items for sale such as notebooks, handmade paper jewelry. We will also visit the San Agustín Arts Center, known as CaSa, an enigmatic building for its architecture and contemporary art exhibitions. Spectacular Former La Soledad Yarn and Fabric Factory founded in 1883, where raw cotton blankets were manufactured, the building is enigmatic in its architecture and emblematic for its exhibitions of art and contemporary culture.
And finally, discover the secrets of the Quesillo with a unique texture and flavor, of the existing cheeses in the world, this one is of Oaxacan origin and created within a family that produces cheese, quesillo and cottage cheese is the last part of this excursion.
