“QUESILLO” AND PAPER FROM OAXACA

Leaving the City of Oaxaca, you will travel to the destination of the Etla Valley, where Quesillo and Papel is the distinctive commercial activity of this totally artisanal place. Visiting first a former hydroelectric plant located in San Agustín Etla, a place where there is a cooperative dedicated to the production of paper with natural fibers from the region, such as tree bark, branches, flowers, pigments and cotton. This workshop offers for sale items such as notebooks and handmade paper jewelry.
We will also visit the San Agustín Center for the Arts, known as CASA in spanish, an enigmatic building due to its architecture and contemporary art exhibitions. Spectacular former La Soledad Yarn and Weaving Factory founded in 1883, where raw cotton blankets were manufactured, the building is enigmatic in its architecture and emblematic for its contemporary art and culture exhibitions.
And finally, discover the secrets of the Quesillo of unique texture and flavor, of the existing cheeses in the world, this is of Oaxacan origin and created within a family that produces cheese, quesillo and cottage cheese is the last part of this excursion.
