MEXICO CITY TOUR & XOCHIMILCO

We will visit the Historical downtown district that is a UNESCO world heritage site, the National Palace, the Zocalo panoramic of the Aztec Major Temple, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Reforma boulevard, the Chapultepec Park, the most glamorous residential districts of the city, and the Zona Rosa (Pink Zone). We continue with a panoramic Tour of the World Trade Center, the Siqueiros Cultural Poliforum, the Mexico Bullring, the Theater of the Insurgentes, the Olympic Stadium, the University City, and the lava gardens of San Angel; after, visit Xochimilco, a world heritage site, to ride an Aztec boat; and then to the colonial district of Coyocan with its XVI century mansions and the impressive paintings at the church of Saint John the Baptist.

We will begin our tour by visiting the Historic Center of Mexico City, a site recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; our first stop will be the Zócalo, the main square and the heart of our nation; there we will enjoy a panoramic view of the majestic National Palace that throughout history has housed prominent figures such as viceroys, emperors and presidents.

We will explore in a panoramic way the Archaeological Zone of the Aztec Great Temple that was the epicenter of the religious and political life of the Mexicas. We will also admire the imposing Metropolitan Cathedral, the first cathedral built in America.

Afterwards, we will head along the Paseo de la Reforma, crossing the exterior of Chapultepec Park and the most glamorous residential areas of the city and the Zona Rosa.

The panoramic tour will continue, with highlights including the Poliforum Cultural Siqueiros, which houses the largest mural in the world entitled “The March of Humanity” by David Alfaro Siqueiros; the Plaza de Toros México, the largest in the world with a capacity for 50,000 people; the Teatro de los Insurgentes, famous for the gigantic mural by Diego Rivera that adorns the façade and where Cantinflas appears; the Olympic Stadium; the Ciudad Universitaria, which holds the title of World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its architecture and murals made by the greatest Mexican muralists. We will also explore the lava gardens of Pedregal de San Ángel in a panoramic view.

Continuing our journey, we will visit Xochimilco, another UNESCO World Heritage site, where we will enjoy a ride on an Aztec boat, called “Trajinera” here. We will also explore the charming Coyoacán neighborhood with its 16th-century mansions and the impressive San Juan Bautista Church and its vault with spectacular paintings by Juan Fabregat made in 1944. We will also take a panoramic tour of the mansions of the Spanish conquistadors and Frida Kahlo’s blue house.
