MAGICAL TOWNS AT HIDALGO FROM MEXICO CITY

At 08:15 Meeting at Barcelo Reforma hotel.

We will depart with our destination to Hidalgo State where the majestic basaltic prisms are found; One of the natural wonders of Mexico which are natural columns of stone with 5 or 6 sides that were formed because of the quick cooling of volcanic wash. These rock formations can be found only in 3 different places of the world; Hawaii underwater, the north of Ireland, and of course in Mexico where we are going today; during our visit, we will walk over a pending bridge that gives a spectacular view of the Basaltic prisms and the waterfall that covers them.

We will continue to Real del Monte considered a “Magical Town” because still preserves its English style due to the mining legacy; there, we are visiting the English Pantheon and an old mine (if possible).
Once in Real del Monte, we cannot miss the chance of tasting the “PASTES” a traditional patty stuffed with different stews; its name comes from English “pasty”, this British snack was introduced to the Hidalgo Gastronomy and nowadays is a traditional meal of Real del Monte and Pachuca (Capital City of the state of hidalgo).

The PASTE was introduced to Hidalgo State at the same time as mining and soccer which was the favorite game of the engineers and contractors of Cornwall, England who worked in the mines during the XIX century. We will know the whole history while we make our paste by visiting the paste Museum.
Free time for lunch or shopping.

Before we go back, we will cross Pachuca which is best known as the beautiful windy City (“La Bella Airosa”) because from June to October the wind gets a speed of 75 km/hr. The highlight of this City is the monumental clock located in the main square for more than 100 years. At 18:00hrs we take the way back to Mexico City.
