LIGHTING AND SPECIAL DAY OF THE DEAD

Mexico is characteristic for its innumerable traditions but the most representative is the Day of the Dead; a date that marks the lives of Mexicans, where you can honor your deceased in an atmosphere of party and joy.

From October 29th to November 03rd

DAY 01. (TUE OCT 29TH) ARRIVAL TRANSFER TO MEXICO CITY

Reception at the international airport of Mexico City “Benito Juarez” transfer to the hotel of your choice and accommodation.

DAY 02. (WED OCT 30TH) BRAZALETE FOR TURIBUS / SHOW OF THE LLORONA IN XOCHIMILCO

Breakfast. Take advantage of your visit to Mexico City and live the experience of a contemporary historical tour without time restrictions, visiting the most representative attractions: archaeological, colonial, modern and contemporary during a fun and cultural tour. The tour has 21 stops where you can get off, get to know the city on foot and after a while get back on board and continue. The tour is done in double decker buses with no roof on top to better admire the beauties that this city has to offer (not including transfers to the Turibus stops, passengers travel on their own).

Later in the afternoon (17:00 hours approximately), we will go to Xochimilco, to learn about the pre-Hispanic legend of the woman in white who cries out for her children, through a tour of Cuemanco. This magical place will once again be adorned with a unique spectacle in the world where the natural  scenery of its canals and chinampas become the ideal setting for the presentation of one of the most deeply rooted legends in Mexican culture. At the indicated time transfer back to the hotel. Lodging.

DAY 03. (THU OCT 31ST) FREE DAY

Breakfast. Free day to enjoy Mexico City on your own, or it is recommended to take an optional Mexitours style tour. Lodging.

DAY 04. (FRI NOV 01ST) BASILICA - PYRAMIDES WITHOUT LUNCH

Breakfast. We will start our tour visiting the Plaza of the three cultures, where the past and the present are mixed, from there we will continue to the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan, where we will visit the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the temple of Quetzalpapalotl, the citadel and the avenue of the dead. We will also visit a handicraft center. On our way back to the city we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of America. Lodging.

DAY 05. (SAT NOV 02ND) MIXQUIC TOUR

Breakfast. Mixquic, a town that symbolizes the very essence of the ritual of death, prepares to celebrate the traditional Day of the Dead with sawdust carpets and cempasúchil flowers, pre-Hispanic dances and colorful altars. Dare to learn more about how the locals receive their deceased relatives and friends in a totally unique rite.

Appointment: 13:45 hrs – At Avenida Plaza de la República in front of the old ISSSTE offices in Tabacalera (as reference Monumento a la Revolution). The return is the same day to the same point at approximately 23:59 hrs (Depending on traffic).

This tour includes a Box Lunch.

DAY 06. (SUN NOV 03RD) DEPARTURE TRANSFER

Breakfast. At the indicated time transfer to the airport to board the flight back home. End of services.
