SPECIAL DAY OF THE DEAD

Mexico is characteristic for its innumerable traditions but the most representative is the Day of the Dead; a date that marks the lives of Mexicans, where you can honor your deceased in an atmosphere of party and joy.

DAY 01. (THUR OCT 29TH) ARRIVAL TRANSFER TO MEXICO CITY

Reception at the international airport of Mexico City Benito Juarez transfer to the hotel of your choice and accommodation.

DAY 02. (FRI 30 OCT). LA LLORONA SHOW IN XOCHIMILCO

Breakfast. Later in the afternoon (17:00 hours approximately), we will go to Xochimilco, to learn about the pre-Hispanic legend of the woman in white who cries out for her children, through a tour of Cuemanco. This magical place will once again be adorned with a unique spectacle in the world where the natural scenery of its canals and chinampas become the ideal setting for the presentation of one of the most deeply rooted legends in Mexican culture. At the indicated time transfer back to the hotel. Lodging.

DAY 03. (SAT 31 OCT). FREE DAY

Breakfast. Free day to enjoy Mexico City on your own, or it is recommended to take an optional Mexitours-style tour Lodging

DAY 04. (SUN 01 NOV). BASILICA – PYRAMIDS WITHOUT LUNCH

Breakfast. We will start our tour visiting the Plaza of the three cultures, where the past and the present are mixed, from there we will continue to the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan, where we will visit the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the temple of Quetzal papalotl, the citadel and the avenue of the dead. We will also visit a handicraft center. On our way back to the city we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of America. Lodging.

DAY 05. (MON, NOV 2). EXPERIENCE IN MIXQUIC

Breakfast. 13:00 hrs. Meet at Avenida Plaza de la Republica #154, Col. Tabacalera. Registration, access, box lunch, and gifts. 14:00 hrs. Start of the tour to the magical neighborhood of Mixquic, in the south of Mexico City, a town that symbolizes the very essence of the ritual of death, preparing to celebrate the traditional Day of the Dead with sawdust carpets and cempasúchil flowers, pre-Hispanic dances, and colorful altars. Dare to learn more about how the locals welcome their deceased relatives and friends in a totally unique ritual.
On board the vehicle, you will begin to learn about the curiosities of this journey, the elements that make it up, how to experience the tradition upon arrival in the Mixquic neighborhood, recommendations for the visit, as well as the history of the buildings.
You will be able to enjoy a snack during the trip and a special seasonal gift.

 Experience with large crowds: Please note that this tour takes place at an event with a large number of people.
 Schedule: The tour starts at 14:00 hrs, however, the meeting time is at 13:00 hrs for registration and boarding. If you arrive after 14:01 hrs, you will be considered a no-show and will not be eligible for a refund or change.
 All explanations from the guide will be provided inside the bus, as it is not possible to do so outside the vehicle due to the number of at
tendees.
 Passengers may explore the cemetery on their own. If they wish, they may accompany the guide, but the guide will not provide any additional information beyond what is offered during the bus ride.
 The traditional lighting ceremony in Mixquic begins at 20:00 hrs.

The return trip is scheduled for 21:30 hrs. sharp, in order to arrive early at the initial meeting point. It is recommended that you arrive at the meeting point determined by the guide well in advance to avoid any setbacks.

DAY 06. (TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3). DEPARTURE TRANSFER

Breakfast. At the indicated time transfer to the airport to board the flight
back home. End of services.
