Enjoy a program full of color, aromas, and traditions by visiting the fields of Cempasúchil flowers that are part of the Day of the Dead celebrations, symbolizing life and death.

DAY 01. (WED OCT 29) ARRIVAL TRANSFER MEXICO CITY

Upon the arrival of your flight into Mexico City’s “Benito Juarez” international airport you will be met and transferred to your Mexico City hotel. Lodging.

DAY 02. (THURS 30 OCT) EXPERIENCE IN CHOLULA, ATLIXCO AND THE CATRINAS’ VALLEY FROM MEXICO CITY

Breakfast. Leaving Mexico City, we will visit Santa Maria Tonantzintla and San Francisco Acatepec where you will be aware of their beautiful Indigenist Baroque churches. Then we will admire the largest pyramid in the world in the archaeological zone of Cholula, and its 365 churches. Cholula is one of the nine Magical Towns of the state of Puebla, for having great tourist attractions, especially for its history, archeology, and evolving art seen in the different works of Talavera, its cozy and peaceful village atmosphere, its gastronomy, and its festivities full of tradition and mysticism.

We will continue to the Magic Town of Atlixco de las Flores, founded in 1579, where you can admire the view of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes which are impressive from all angles, especially when we see them a few kilometers away being one of the postcards with which Atlixco welcomes us. It is a unique town with a Novo-Hispanic heritage that will allow you to enjoy its Day of the Dead celebration by visiting the Valley of the Catrinas, a festival with several monumental figures alluding to these dates that will be installed in different parts of the Magic Town. You will walk through its pleasant streets and historic center to see the Municipal Palace in whose interior you will find the murals that tell its history, most of them by the artist Juan Manuel Martinez Caltenco; the kiosk, ex-convent of San Francisco, monumental clock and the wide staircase with its mural; during the tour you will also appreciate artistic works, as well as cultural numbers, you will find skulls, decorated skeletons and other elements that are several meters high, which were made by artisans of the area. Transfer to Mexico City.

DAY 03. (FRI OCT 31) CEMPASUCHITL ROUTE, A MYSTICAL EXPERIENCE

Breakfast. Enjoy a tour of approximately 3 hours aboard a typical boat decorated alluding to the Day of the Dead, where you will be accompanied by a guide, who will tell you the history of Xochimilco and its chinampas, as well as our beautiful tradition of the Day of the Dead in Mexico. On the typical boat, you will also be accompanied by a catrina, with whom you can interact and take pictures. During the ride, you will enjoy a food tasting where you can taste the special bread elaborated for this celebration, accompanied by delicious coffee, amaranth in the shape of a skull, and tasty tamales.


During the tour we will have 3 stops, in the first stop, you can appreciate (according to the schedule) the sunset, in the following stops, you can appreciate the majestic fields of cempasúchil, where you can harvest your flower, then learn to prepare your cempasúchil pulque and later, taste it with the group.

DAY 04. (SAT NOV 01) DAY OF THE DEATH IN VAL´QUIRICO

Breakfast. At 09:00hrs we Will start our Journey to VAL’QUIRICO located in Tlaxcala State, once in this beautiful destination, we Will have the chance to freely explore all the activities and experiences that this impressive and unique community has to offer. During this holiday traditionally celebrated in this town of theme architecture, plenty of activities take place (some of them with extra cost) such as Musical spectacles, play theatres, exhibitions, local food tasting, and circus acts, plus we will admire the traditional offerings decoring the streets, squares, and valleys, and not to mention the biggest PROCESSION OF CATRINAS that takes places at the sunset.

DAY 05. (SUN NOV 02) FREE DAY

Breakfast. Free day for personal activities; we recommend taking an optio nal Mexitours-style tour. Lodging.

DAY 06. (MON NOV 03 ) DEPARTURE TRANSFER

Breakfast. At the appropriate time, you will be transfered to the Mexico City airport in time to board your return flight home.
