ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES IN THE LACANDON JUNGLE: BONAMPAK AND YAXCHILAN

We will depart for Frontera Corozal de Chiapas, where we will embark for approximately one hour downriver to visit the mystical archaeological site of Yaxchilan, a place recognized due to the quality of the sculptures found there. Later from Yaxchilan we will continue with the visit of Bonampak.  Its name means “Painted Walls”, and therein lies the fame of this site, since on the walls of the Bonampak enclosures are the best-preserved paintings of the Mayan World, this is the most remarkable of archaeological Chiapas.
