MONTE ALBAN AND THE ART OF OAXACA

In this archeological tour you will know the most important archeological zone of the Oaxaca state, Monte Alban, the majestic urban center of regional importance, declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, unique due to the religious, political and economic control who exercised the Zapotec people. You will know everything about the history of each part the conform this wonderful place, visit the main square and do not forget to take the best pictures from the high of its pyramids. Another place to visit full with magic, colors and tradition is San Antonio Arazola. The famous artisans will show you how do they carve copal wood, explaining to you all the process it takes a just to get the logs for the crave, as part of ancient tradition of the Zapotecs, giving origin to the irreal and magic figures called Alebrijes, that represent the innovative spirit of the Oaxacan soul.

To continue this amazing tour, you will enter to a small town with adobe houses, San Bartolo Coyotepec, where a worldwide jewel is kept: the black clay. In this place you will know the elaboration process of beautiful ceramic figures.
