This five-day, four-night excursion has been created specifically for those interested in learning more about the people who inhabit southeastern Mexico. A tour that takes us back in time to learn more about a great civilization: THE MAYAS
DAY 1. CANCÚN /TULUM / KOHUNLINCH / CHICANNA
Departure from Cancun to Chicanna. En route, we will visit the archaeological site of TULUM, perched on the coast of the Caribbean Sea and protected by a fortress wall and the second largest reef in the world. It is considered one of the last Mayan cities, its collapse was in 1600 BC. After this visit we will continue to the archaeological site of KOHUNLICH, to admire the large stucco masks, the ball court and the stelae plaza. The last stop is the archaeological site of Chicanna, famous for its temples with zoomorphic figures. Overnight in CHICANNA.
DAY 2. CHICANA / BECAN / MISOL – HA / PALENQUE
Breakfast Departure from Chicanna to visit the archaeological site of BECAN whose name in Mayan means “cliff”, probably because of the pit that surrounded the central part of the city at one time. After this, we will go to the impressive MISOL-HA waterfalls where time will be given for swimming. In the afternoon we will continue to Palenque. Lodging.
DAY 3. PALENQUE / CAMPECHE
Breakfast Visit the archaeological site of PALENQUE, a place of mystery and magic hidden in the mountains of Chiapas. You will be amazed by the temples and the ornate tomb of Pakal. Continue to the city of Campeche, the beautiful Pirate City. Lodging.
DAY 4. CAMPECHE / EDZNÁ / UXMAL / MERIDA
Breakfast Depart Campeche to visit the archaeological site of EDZNA and its impressive buildings with acoustic curiosities. We continue to the state of Yucatan to visit UXMAL, one of the most romantic Mayan cities, known for its unusual rounded pyramid. Overnight in Merida.
DAY 5. MERIDA / CHICHEN ITZÁ / CANCUN
Breakfast Departure from Merida to continue our visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World: CHICHEN ITZA, a site where the Mayans gathered their knowledge of the heavens to amaze us every spring and autumn, as thousands of people gather at the equinoxes to see the serpent formed by the sun descend through the central pyramid. Continuation to Cancun and/or Riviera Maya, to drop you off at your hotel.
