IZAMAL: THE CITY OF THE 3 CULTURES

Izamal, founded in the mid-16th century on the remains of an ancient Maya city, is 45 minutes from Mérida. It is known as “the city of the three cultures”, so called because three historical periods coexist in it. We will have the opportunity to ride aboard a horse-drawn carriage during the visit. As we continue our tour, we will witness the imposing archaeological pyramids, a pillar of its Mayan heritage; the convent, an indelible trace of Spanish influence; and its inhabitants: Yucatecans proud of their culture, kind and gentle.
