DAY 1. WED 28 OCT ARRIVAL TRANSFER

Arrival at Mexico City’s Benito Juárez International Airport and transfer to the hotel of your choice. Accommodation.

DAY 2. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29 XOCHIMILCO, CU, COYOACAN

Breakfast. Panoramic tour highlighting the Poliforum Cultural Siqueiros, home to the world’s largest mural entitled “The March of Humanity” by David Alfaro Siqueiros; the Plaza de Toros México, the world’s largest bullring with a capacity for 50,000 people; the Teatro de los Insurgentes, famous for the gigantic mural by Diego Rivera that adorns its façade and features Cantinflas; the Olympic Stadium, and the University City, which, due to its architecture and murals by the greatest Mexican muralists, has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will also explore the lava gardens of Pedregal de San Ángel.

DAY 3. FRI 30 OCT GUADALUPE BASILICA AND TEOTIHUACÁN PYRAMIDS FROM MEXICO CITY

Breakfast. We will begin our tour by visiting the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, which blends the past and the present. From there, we will continue to the impressive archaeological site of Teotihuacan, where we will visit the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, the citadel, and the Avenue of the Dead. We will also visit a craft center, where we will be given an explanation of how obsidian and jade crafts are made, as well as the traditional drink (includes tasting of Tequila, Mezcal, and Pulque). Upon returning to the city, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of America, the second most visited shrine by Catholic faithful worldwide.

DAY 4. SAT (OCT 31). DEPARTURE TRANSFER MEXICO/ ARRIVAL IN MORELIA

Breakfast. At the appointed time, transfer to the bus station to take the regular bus to Morelia. Reception and transfer to your hotel.
Free afternoon. We suggest visiting the craft museum, the candy museum, or, if you wish, you can take a night tour of legends, which is sold next to the cathedral by characters dressed in colonial era costumes. Don’t forget to attend the cathedral lighting show at 8:45 p.m., which is free every Saturday (check with your hotel for information about this show). Accommodation.

DAY 5. SUN (NOV 1). NIGHT OF THE SOULS

Breakfast. Call to follow the souls, meeting and assignment of places before starting the trip.
We will experience the traditional Day of the Dead night in Michoacán by visiting Cuanajo, where the festivities in this town revolve around the Caballito offering. It is a wooden horse decorated with flowers, bread, and fruit, which is offered to the soul to take with it on its return to the underworld. Afterwards, we will head to Arocutin where we will visit a cemetery, the only one that still has its cemetery inside the church courtyard, to enjoy a night full of tradition. Return to Morelia. The itinerary is subject to change without prior notice depending on the decisions of the communities.

DAY 6. MON (NOV 2). FREE DAY IN MORELIA

Breakfast. Free day in Morelia to enjoy a Mexitours-style experience. We recommend visiting the magical town of Santa Clara del Cobre.

DAY 7. TUESDAY (NOVEMBER 3). DEPARTURE TRANSFER FROM MORELIA

Breakfast. At the designated time, transfer to the airport to board your flight home.
